When injected into the fat below the skin, Fat Dissolving Injections destroys fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. The active ingredient in Fat Dissolving Injections is a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. Fat cleared from the treatment area is processed through your body’s natural metabolism.
How many treatments will I need?
We will discuss how many treatments you require during your consultation. This will depend on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals. Up to 6 treatments may be administered, no less than 1 month apart.
How are Fat Dissolving Injections administered?
The injection process may take as little as 15 to 20 minutes, not including your consultation. The treatment is administered via a series of injections into the fat under your chin.
What can I expect after my treatment?
For most patients, downtime occurred most commonly after the first treatment session. You should be able to resume your normal daily activities, but are likely to have swelling so keep your social and work plans in mind when scheduling your treatment.
Are there any side effects?
The most common side effects include swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness or hardening in the treated area.
